Veterinarian Richard Penny, world renown pig expert made pigs not only his career but also spent his life surrounded by them in his Warwickshire home.
Well known for being the government advisor on foot and mouth, when Richard passed away in July, valuer James Lewis found a home full of pigs. From silver pig pin cushions to porcelain Crested Ware pigs, ceramic pigs from the 1870's, pig rugs, pig lamps, pig decorations of all forms. Auctioneer James Lewis said he could not believe his eyes.
The auction of his contents together with many other antiques that filled his home will be in the Three-Day Fine Art and Antiques Auction at Bamfords in Derby on the 13th, 14th and 17th January 2022.
